In the poem '74th Street' by Myra Cohn Livingston. It tells us about a little girl that is trying to roller skate. When she was first learning she fell and skinned her knee. Then she wiped the dirt off and put some spit on it. Then she tried again so in my opinion she is determined. She is also tough because she smacks her hand and then grabs the step. After that she skinned her knee and instead of going home to get a band aid she spits on it. That is how she is very tough. The poem 74th Street by Myra Cohn Livingston is about a girl that is determined. I think that the author wants us to be determined. Because in the story she never gives up. My opinion is she talked in kid talk cause a kid was saying it. It also made me determined because i should never give up.

In 74th street the girl was tried to roller skate she did not give up even though she got hurt.(I'd give up ): ). She went 6 inches then
fell.It inspired me to not give up and persist.
I think that she was tough she kept trying even though she got trying by spitting on her bleeding hand. She is also tough because she skinned her knee and didn't cry.I would want to keep persisting because I want to moon walk I think that the author wrote this poem to help us learn to be tenacious. The author might have wanted for us to try NEW things for example moon walking . I really think that the author was trying to help us to keep trying at NEW things even though we might fall or scrape our knees.Well I know the poem helped me. :)

In the poem, "74th Street" by Myra Cohn Livingston, it tells about a girl that gets new roller skates. She tries them on and she was learning how to roller skate. She started falling. Later, she was about to fall backwards but she still didn't get hurt. Then, she brushes the dirt off of her knees and she spits to get it off.
I think that the girl is determined because she falls and keeps on falling. She didn't even take a break. So even if it hurt she really didn't care. She was also tough because she almost fell backwards but she stopped the fall. So she was brave, tough and determined. She kept on trying.
I think the author was telling us that you should NEVER EVER GIVE UP?

In the book "74th Street " by Myra Con Livingston it tells us about a girl who gets roller skates. She puts them on. The little girl is learning how. She falls down. Scrapes her knee. She put some spit on it and brush it off. Her roller skates don't stop her so she keeps trying.
After reading the poem I think the girl is determined. She falls down but keeps on trying. She doesn't take a break. The girl is also
tough. She scrapes her knee, brushes off the dirt and blood, spit on
it and keeps trying.
The structure is cool because of the stanzas. It was talking like a teenager. But why did it use so many ands?
The author wants us to be determined. The author didn't make me determined thow. I don't know but there is something missing, I said I don't know.

In the poem 74th street, it's about a girl who gets roller skates. She falls down and gets hurt, but she got up. She grabs something and tries again. The girl is determined because she keeps on trying. Even when she got hurt, she tried again and again. She didn't take a break, she tries again. That makes her determined. In the poem 74th street it's tying to teach you that you shouldn't give up.It also teaches you that you should be brave. I believe the author wrote this story to inspire people. After reading this story I am inspired.

In the poem '' 74th Street'' by Myra Cohn Livingston, it tells us about a little girl that gets roller skates and tries to learn how to use them.At first she falls, skins and smacks her hand. But even though she kept falling she didn't give up. After reading this poem I know that the girl is tough because she smacks her hand on the side walk. Plus she skins her knee, then washes off the blood and dirt with spit.I think the author organized the poem in a specific way because she kept saying ''and'' and she didn't capitalize again and she used specific words. After reading this poem I knew that the author completed her goal because she showed me to be determined.

What the poem is about a girl that gets roller skates. What the author is saying to never give up. But the story to me sounds weird. The author is Myra Cohn Livingston.
The charter is a girl that gets roller skates. She never gave up and she kept on trying. I think author was trying to make us more determined and courageous. But it didn't make me more determined and courageous.
The story didn't make me more determined because sometimes the author used kid talk so it really didn't make me more determined.

In the poem ''74 street'' by Myra Con Livingston, it tells us about a little kid as it said in the story the kid that is a girl gets roller skates and falls over and over. She never gave up and kept on falling down. But when she first started she almost flopped backwards. At the end of the story when she fell and skinned her knee she didn't give up.
After reading this story the girl is very determined because she falls and keeps trying. Also because she doesn't take a break. She is also very tough because she skins her knee and brushes off the blood and dirt and spits on the blood to wash it off. Also she is tough because she smacks her hand and grabs a step and tries again.
The author wrote this story because the girl was determined to try again. Also she wrote many ands to because she was doing many things at once. The thing that stands out to me is why did she put again at the end is it because she is trying again. But she sounds like a big kid. I think that because she spit on her hand. this is one thing that sounds like a kid is the words she put like grabs. I fell less determined because I do that those things I think this story is for second graders because of the words. Also to make them like her or not like her one more reason to make them never give up. But I'm doing better at not giving up

In the poem '' 74th street''by Myra Cohn Livingston it tells us about a little girl learning how to skate. She falls down and again. She won't give up until she got it. I think the the author wants us to be determined.
The girl is very tough because she falls down and then gets back up. She skins her knee then she brushes of the blood and dirt. The girl did not go inside and cry to her mom, she spit on her knee and keeps on skating. She also is not learning with an adult she is teaching her self .
The author is trying to make us think it is a little girl telling the poem. I really like how the author did the put two stanzas on the right other then the left. I think that stanza out to me because it makes the poem interesting. The author kinda acts like a kid.
The poem did not make me determined because if I were to get skates and keep on falling I would stop.

In the poem "74th Street" by Myra Cohn Livingston, it tells us about a girl that tries to skate and that is brave . She kept trying and trying. When she was first learning she kept on falling. She keeps trying even though she keeps falling. Myra seems very determined. Something I don't like she seems mean.
The girl in the story is tough because she smacks her hand. But then she skins her knee and then washes it of with her spit. The girl is also confident because she thinks she's going somewhere even though she's just learning. In the story she's also also determined because she falls and keeps trying. Myra doesn't even take a break.
I think the Author is trying to tell us about the girl. Also that you don't say and alot in a sentence.

In the poem "74th street" by Myra Cohn Lvingston , it tells us about a girl who gets new roller skates. She starts to get up but then she falls down. I think this little girl has a lot of determination . At the end of the poem she keeps on falling and keeps getting back up.
I think this girl is very determined. I found some evidence in the story that I thought she was very determined because she really wants to learn how to roller skate. I also think she is very tough because she was able to pull herself up when she fell down. She also spits on her hand to wipe the blood and dirt off.
I think the author is trying to make it look like a child is talking. I also think the author chose the title because maybe she grew up on 74th street or maybe it happened on 74th street. I think that she put again at the very bottom because she wanted it to stand out.
I think that the authors purpose of this story is to teach kids to be more determined. This poem made me a lot more determined because now I think I can try anything.

In the poem 74th Street by Myra Cohn Livingston it tells us about a girl who is determined to roller skate. She kept falling when she was first learning. The girl keeps getting up and keeps trying even when she skins her knee.
After reading this poem I think that the girl is tough. She smacks her hand, but she still tries again. When she skins her knee after sliding six inches she just puts some spit on it and keeps going. I think she is also determined, because she never stops trying, even when she falls.
The author chose to organize this poem in four stanzas She used language like a little kid. She had a huge run on sentence. The first stanza is the longest. The second one is a sentence long. The third is about 1/3 of the first. The last one is one word. This poem is about determination. I felt more courageous after reading this poem.

In the poem ''74 Street '' by Myra Chonn Livingston,it tells about.A little girl that got roller skates. Then she fell on her hand and but out her foot. Then she was on the stairs and hurt her knees.
The girl is tough because. She smacks her hand and. Garb the step then skins her knee. Then she spit to wipes her knee.
That using to many is okay. Teaching you to be tough because and is what kids speak.
She set it up that a girl living on 74th street. Then the girl was tough and got new roller skates. She fell down.It made me to be tough and I would do the same thing

She tries to talk like a little kid so that other little kids would understand. I think that the author was trying to inspire us to be determined ,confident and tough. I like the poem but it didn't make me determined.

In the poem by Myra Cohn Livingston it tells us about...
A girl who is trying to learn how to roller skate and keeps on falling then tries again.
I think the girl is tough because she falls and smacks her hand gets back up and tries again. She is also determined because she doesn't give up and keeps on trying.
I think the author wrote this story so people could be determined and not give up. She also inspired me to be brave.

In 74th street the girl kept falling but new never to give up on a dream so every time she fell to always keep try to do your best and never to give up on a dream. She new to never to give up on a dream and keep trying.
The girl new to be brave and to keep trying. She also new that even though you get hurt some times to try over until you get it right. She also new that you have to keep trying and to never give up. the girl is brave because she kept getting up and brushing of the dirt. To try to accomplish your dream. In the poem "74th Street" by Myra Cohn Livingston, it tells us about a little kid that got new roller skates. It was her first time rollerskating. At first, she kept falling down but she kept trying. When she skinned her knee, she grabs hold of a step to get up. She spits on her hand to wipe the blood off.
After reading the poem, it seems like she is very tough because she smacks her hand but she did not run home she just put spit to wash the blood and dirt. She is also determined because she falls and keeps trying. She doesn't even take a break. She is also confident because she thinks she is going somewhere even though she is just learning. I think the author wrote this because you should never give up. This poem is kind of depressing.
