Our Holiday actives were really fun this year. We had a Christmas Concert. We sang "When Christmas Comes to Town" because we like the Polar Express. I enjoyed watching the other kids sing.
We also had a classroom party that was really fun. Kayson's mom taught us a fun candy game where we had to unwrap a ball of plastic wrap to get to the candy. We had to wear gloves and roll dice. If you got doubles, you had to give the ball and the gloves to the next person to unwrap. We got lots of candy and gifts. Mrs. Call gave us a gum ball machine and we got a book, "The Chocolate Touch" from the PTA. We got candy from the game and from kids in our class. I gave everyone in the class animal crackers. We drank Capri Suns while we listened to Daniel's mom read a Christmas book by Patricia Polocco. I liked the party because everyone that was here had a fun time and got treats. I hope we have a party like that again someday. --Damion Heninger We had an exciting party in Mrs. Call's class on Halloween. One of the things that we did was we made monster cookies with Mrs. Lamborn. You got a couple of M&Ms that you used for the mouth and the pupil of the eye. You also got 2 giant marshmallows or 2 small marshmallows for the eyes. Mrs. Lamborn made this super scrumptious blue frosting to put on the cookie. All the leftover frosting was for us to eat.
The next place we went was to Mrs. Baysinger. We got into groups and chose one person to wrap in toilet paper. The other partners had to work together to wrap the other partner tightly as they could. A lot of the toilet paper broke off into tiny pieces and we had to put them back on. When we were finished, we got three tootsie rolls to eat. The last thing we did was we played Halloween Bingo with Mrs. Call. If you got bingo you would get a fruit snack (if it was your first time you got a bingo). Then, when everyone got a bingo, we played another time. If you got a bingo the second time you would get a jolly rancher. It was a memorable party! --Mickle Ogden Hi there! This is Taylor and Nichole and we wanted to tell you about our Logan Canyon Field Trip.
We didn't actually go to the canyon this field trip because it was raining. We got to go to the fairgrounds instead. We still did the same stuff though. Our first thing that we did was learn about the soil. First, we learned about the different kinds. There are three types of soil: sand, clay and silt. Next, we made a soil profile. There was bed rock, parent material, subsoil, and top soil. We also learned about nature and animals. We looked at bugs in the water and touched animal pelts. We also played a game about bird migration. That's what we did on our field trip! |
